Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has confirmed the election of Lisa Mayhew as managing partner of the firm following the first contested elections held in 16 years.
Mayhew, an employment law specialist at the firm, will take over from Neville Eisenberg on 1 May 2015; she was previously a partner at Jones Day and Hogan Lovells. The election is particularly notable given that Mayhew is the first female managing partner of a top 20 law firm in the United Kingdom.
Mayhew commented: "BLP has come a really long way in a relatively short space of time. We’re a progressive and ambitious firm and everyone recognises that a change in leadership creates opportunity to drive positive change."
