Legal education provider BARBRI has collaborated with top UK universities, including the University of Derby and Liverpool John Moores University, to embed its cutting-edge Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) preparation technology into master’s degree programmes.

The partnerships mark an important step forward in modernising legal education, with students benefiting from personalised learning plans, diagnostic testing and practice assessments that have been designed to prepare them for the SQE assessments. The move aims to equip students with the “tools, skills and confidence” required to qualify as a solicitor via the SQE in England and Wales.

Students will have the opportunity to experience modules focused on workplace simulation – a practice-based approach to get students ready for “the realities of legal practice”.

Christopher Howard, university partnership director, said: “This combination of academic and hands-on learning prepares graduates to excel from day one in a rapidly evolving legal profession, bridging the gap between theory and practice and shaping the next generation of solicitors.”

As well as a partnership with MSc Law & Professional Practice at King’s College London, BARBRI has also partnered with:

In addition, The University of Law and The College of Legal Practice have also previously announced similar partnerships with UK universities to offer SQE preparation.

Meanwhile, the Solicitors Regulation Authority has confirmed that an independent review will take place to assess whether the SQE is “providing greater assurance of consistent standards at the point of admission” and “encouraging the development of new and diverse pathways to qualification”.
