Applications open for LawCareersNetLIVE 2022

Applications are now open for LawCareers.Net’s legal careers conferences, LawCareersNetLIVE, taking place in November and December later this year.

The LawCareersNetLIVE conferences are for aspiring lawyers who want to learn more about how to build a fulfilling career as a solicitor. The events are timed to maximise the benefit to students intending to apply for 2023 vacation scheme and training contracts in 2023.

The comprehensive programme features a mixture of panel discussions, workshops and networking – all aiming to provide first-hand insights into the work of a commercial solicitor and allow delegates to hear from recruiters, trainees and partners at leading law firms.

The dates and locations of this year’s LawCareersNetLIVE events are:

• Manchester – Friday 25 November 2022;
• London – Friday 2 December 2022; and
• Virtual – Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 December 2022.

Applicants can apply for only one LawCareersNetLIVE event. The programme is identical at all events and delegates should select the event that best suits them in terms of location and sponsor firms.

A range of top law firms, including Baker McKenzie, Jones Day, Osborne Clarke LLP, Ropes & Gray International LLP, Shoosmiths and Squire Patton Boggs (UK) LLP, are sponsoring this year’s LawCareersNetLIVE conferences. They will be running their own individual practice area workshops and taking part in the panel discussion and networking sessions.

Previous firm-led workshop topics include banking, global disputes, real estate, M&A insurance and asset finance.

The LawCareersNetLIVE events are open to all students and aspiring lawyers who have not yet secured a training contract, especially first and second-year law students and non-law students. Applications from law graduates and Legal Practice Course students will also be considered.

Applications will close on Thursday 27 October 2022 but offers will be made on a rolling basis from early autumn, so we recommend getting your application in as early as possible.

The delegate fee for successful applicants is £29 for LawCareersNetLIVE Manchester and London and £10 for LawCareersNetLIVE Virtual. Free places will be offered to those from low socio-economic backgrounds who can’t afford the delegate fee. There’s more information on the FAQ section of the LawCareersNetLIVE microsite.
