Both The College of Law and Kaplan Law School have published figures on how many of their 2010 LPC graduates had secured employment in the legal profession.
Reported in The Lawyer, The College of Law says that 84% of the nearly 2,000 students who responded to the survey (around 82% of the class) had obtained "law-related work" since graduating in July 2010. That breaks down as 62% with a training contract, and 22% working in a paralegal or other law-related role. Only 1% classified themselves as unemployed.
Boasting similar figures, Kaplan Law School said that 71% of its 2010 LPC graduates had training contracts lined up, with another 11% looking forward to starting paralegal work.
Commentators have noted that neither provider revealed how many of those with training contracts had secured them before starting the LPC, rather than during.
