Young lawyer competition will raise funds for cancer charity

updated on 27 July 2012

Legal trainees now have the chance to compete for the Young Lawyers Enterprise Award, sponsored by Netlaw Media and Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. The competition will pit 10 teams of trainees against one another in a series of money-making challenges, with all proceeds to be donated to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research’s ongoing work toward beating blood cancers.

The challenges will commence in October 2012 and finish in April 2013, and will involve each team working to grow their own seed fund throughout. The challenges will involve presenting business ideas to a board of judges before putting those plans into action over the following six months. Entrants will be assessed and advised by leading professionals from the legal and commercial sectors. The winning team will win a mystery "top prize" and plenty of PR opportunities to stand out in a crowded sector, while their employer will also benefit from special marketing opportunities.

Entrants must be from the legal sector (ie, at law school, on a graduate programme, or already a trainee or newly-qualified solicitor). Participants can enter as a team or as individuals to be placed into groups. To enter contact Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research’s business development manager, Rebecca Gibson, at [email protected].
