Commercial firm Boodle Hatfield LLP was credited as the country's best law firm for women at the second annual Women in Business Law Awards on 20 June 2012; an event run by the Euromoney Legal Media Group Europe.

The firm swept the board with three major awards, earning recognition as the best national firm in the United Kingdom, the best national firm across 31 countries and the best national firm for provisioning employees' work/life balance. 58% of Boodle Hatfield's partners are female, as are 67% of its solicitors and all of its non-fee-earning directors. The panel which judged the awards also praised Boodle Hatfield's work in helping employees balance their responsibilities, citing policies like enhanced maternity leave and flexible working arrangements for those with dependents.

Boodle Hatfield's senior partner, Richard Maughan, said: "We have always strived to provide an environment where all staff can thrive and achieve their full potential. The firm has always had a high number of female partners and staff and has female role models at all levels. Providing members of the firm with the opportunity to have challenging and successful careers while, at the same time, having fulfilling home lives is very much a part of our heritage. We are enormously proud of the environment we have created and believe that it contributes greatly to the high quality of client service for which we are known as well as benefiting our partners and staff. We are delighted to have had our efforts recognised by Euromoney in these awards."
