HSBC has announced that it will reinstate its BPTC loan for students that need help funding their postgraduate studies.
Reported in The Lawyer, the loan was first introduced as part of a drive to widen access to the Bar, but had been suspended in November 2010 while the bank conducted a review of the offer. Now available again, the bank has affirmed its support for Bar students and will shortly announce full details of its loan scheme.
This is particularly good news for aspiring barristers, in light of the announcement from NatWest that it will withdraw its Professional Trainee Loan from April 2011.
