Simmons & Simmons has once again been rated as the most gay-friendly law firm in the United Kingdom in the annual league table produced by the charity Stonewall.
This is the fourth consecutive year that the firm has headed the legal sector in the Stonewall table, this time recording its best ranking at 10th place in the overall league of gay-friendly companies. As reported by RollonFriday, six other firms were in the top 100: Baker & McKenzie occupy 13th place, Irwin Mitchell came in at number 33, Pinsent Masons at 41, Hogan Lovells at 62, Eversheds at 73 and Herbert Smith made the list at 80.
While there is clearly a lot more work to do in ensuring equality and tolerance across UK workplaces and employment sectors, the recent Stonewall results represent encouraging signs that the legal profession is moving in the right direction on this issue.
