Reynolds Porter Chamberlain has started the new year by opening a new office in Bristol, staffed by a team of nearly 30 former CMS Cameron McKenna (CMS) partners, associates and office staff. The Bristol office will be chiefly involved with insurance work and professional indemnity.
The move was first announced last September, and was soon followed by the November opening of RPC's first overseas office in Singapore. The launch of the firm's Bristol base means that RPC now boasts three offices worldwide.
Three CMS partners have already completed their moves to the new team, with a further four set to join in the near future, one of whom (Rebecca Smith) is joining as a legal director.
RPC managing partner Jonathan Watmough said: "Complex professional indemnity work has been at the heart of RPC for many years, and this move underlines the strength of our commitment to that part of our business. There is a growing appetite among our clients for a quality service outside London. This new office will offer the greater choice and flexibility that we know they are after."
