Cardiff to offer GDL from 2012

updated on 18 October 2011

Cardiff Law School will be offering the GDL from September 2012, subject to validation by the SRA. Hoping to take a cradle to grave approach to legal training, the law school already offers an LPC consistently graded as excellent and a BPTC noted for its strength.

The course will be delivered by tutors who are all qualified solicitors and barristers. Angela Devereux, Cardiff's Centre for Professional Legal Studies director, said: "We've long wanted to offer all our students wishing to be lawyers the chance to qualify while staying in Cardiff. It is a big step for a university with the reputation for academic excellence enjoyed by Cardiff. The GDL is sometimes seen as a 'crammer' course, but we are sure we can offer a course which is not only intellectually rigorous but is also aimed at preparing students for eventual practice."

The law school is running open evenings for prospective students on 31 October and 10 November 2011. Email [email protected] for more details.
