The annual LawWorks & Attorney General Student Awards were held recently, in the elegant surrounds of the House of Commons, to recognise the outstanding pro bono achievements of students and law school staff throughout the United Kingdom.
Endorsed and presented by Attorney General Dominic Grieve QC MP, and sponsored by LexisNexis, this year's awards attracted many impressive submissions, from a broad spread of universities and individuals. The winners in the four categories were as follows:
Lucy Scott-Moncrieff, Law Society vice president and judge of the awards, said: "I have greatly enjoyed judging this year's entries and have been moved by the creativity, empathy, commitment to justice and sheer hard work that the nominees displayed." Grieve said: "Pro bono work is one of the finest traditions of the legal profession and these awards celebrate a group of dedicated law students who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in their commitment to helping others."
