Trainee retention rates revealed at more top firms

Following the encouraging retention figures released by several firms in January, more big names have disclosed their retention rates for March 2012. As reported in Legal Week, the figures are as follows:

  • Wragge & Co retained an impressive 100% of its six March qualifiers.
  • Travers Smith also kept on all four of its qualifying trainees, hitting the 100% mark.
  • Linklaters is keeping on 86% - 49 out of 57 - of its trainees. Two of the qualifying cohort chose not to apply for jobs with the firm.
  • Herbert Smith retained 88% of its trainees (35 of 40). Two of the 40 did not accept posts with the firm.
  • Macfarlanes kept on only 40% (two out of five) of its trainees. One of the five elected not to apply for a post with the firm.
