The National College of Legal Training (NCLT) is running a reverse auction which could result in the winner receiving a bargain-price LPC.
The competition is being held on 27 May on the NCLT's Facebook page. Students who want to study the LPC in 2012, but who have not yet secured a place, have the chance to win an LPC at a price determined by them.
To enter, students must register for the event and then log on to Facebook at 11:00am on 27 May. The NCLT will post the LPC fees, gradually reducing them during the day. When an entrant sees the fees at a level they're willing to pay, they must be the first to post with the phrase, "I want that LPC!". There is one LPC place available for auction, worth up to £8,500.
The NCLT is also running an essay competition for an LPC place in 2012 or 2013, where entrants must submit an essay of between 1,100-1,300 words on "How can the legal profession respond to the arrival of alternative business structures?". Deadline is 29 June.
