Holman Fenwick first firm to post 2010-11 turnover

updated on 05 May 2011

The first top 50 firm to reveal its 2010-11 financial results this year is Holman Fenwick Willan, which has posted revenues of £112.5 million for the financial year ending 31 March - a 12.6% increase on last year's figure of £99.9 million.

This is not a like-for-like comparison, however, as the firm chose to bring forward the year-end of its financial year, meaning that the £99.9 million figure only covers the 11 months between May and March. A like-for-like comparison for the equivalent period puts revenues up by 6% on a projected turnover figure of £106 million.

Senior partner Richard Crump told Legal Week that 45% of the firm's 2010-11 revenues were brought in by its offices outside of the City, with the increase in revenue reflecting the firm's international expansion. He said: "We continue to see opportunities for international growth and recent developments in our business reflect entirely our strategy of investing in core sectors of focus on an international basis. Our offices outside of London are contributing an increasing proportion of our global revenue and we see that trend continuing."
