A record number of solicitors have gained the prestigious title of Queen’s Counsel (QC) in the most recent round of appointments, which are usually taken up by barristers.
Six solicitor advocates were made QCs in the January appointments. They are:
Robert Bourns, president of the Law Society, commented: "The inclusion of six solicitor advocates in the appointments is particularly pleasing, and is something the whole solicitor profession can celebrate. The increasing number of solicitor advocates recognised in this way reflects the immense skill solicitors bring to the court room, and is a trend we hope to see continue."
