More than 800 teams and 12,000 walkers took part in the London Legal Walk 2022 last Tuesday 28 June in aid of supporting access to justice. Those completing the 10km route through central London have so far raised £590,000.

Organised by The London Legal Support Trust and supported by The Law Society, the annual charity walk brings together the legal community to raise funds to help the most poor and vulnerable people in our community access justice. Participants of the walk include employees from law firms, legal services businesses and legal information companies (including LawCareers.Net and Law Business Research).

More than 100 charities across London and the South East offering free legal advice receive funding from the London Legal Walk each year.

Now in its 18th year, participants of this year’s walk were also invited en route to stop at The Solicitor’s Charity stand to find out about how it helps solicitors who are going through difficult times. The wheel of fortune on the stand allowed representatives from The Solicitors’ Charity to engage with solicitors from across the UK.

The Solicitors’ Charity Chief Executive Nick Gallagher said: “This year’s London Legal Walk had a great atmosphere created by all those taking part – including 10 of the charity’s volunteers and staff. A huge amount has been raised to help provide more free and pro bono advice to solicitors in London and the South East.

“As a sponsor of The London Legal Walk again this year, we were delighted to chat to participants at our information stand and spread the word about the work we do and how it makes a positive difference to many lives in England and Wales.”
