Crowdfunded online legal service takes off: LawBite raises record-breaking investment

updated on 29 January 2014

LawBite, the online legal service, has launched its second round of crowdfunding; the initial funding round in May 2013 saw investors raise £240,000 in just 10 days.

The business - founded by barrister Clive Rich - provides low-cost and simple contracts for small businesses through an online platform. As reported by the Telegraph, LawBite holds 60 different types of contracts for its clients to use, including shareholder and non-disclosure agreements. Documents are easy to customise online and utilise e-signature technology.

Commenting on the success of the service to date, Rich said: "Since we started trading, we’ve doubled our revenue each and every month and formed a string of lucrative partnerships, and are keen to capitalise on these opportunities as soon as possible."

He added: "The legal industry has always been resistant to change. By rewriting all the contracts into plain English and simplifying the process, I’m hoping to help more small businesses protect their interests and bring the law into the 21st Century."
